You will provide support and service to faculty and staff conducting research. This includes coordination of staff support, provision of centralized systems, regulatory expertise, and quality assurance. Your work will support our mission of rapidly translating research discoveries into safe, effective treatments.
As a Postdoctoral Scientist, you will be working in the Tourtellotte lab which studies the pathogenesis of cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's Disease (Ou-Yang et al., Sci. Transl. Med., 10, 459) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Qiu et al., J. Clin. Invest., 124, 981). The lab also has an interest in transcriptional regulation of genes involved in learning and memory (Li et al., Mol. Cell. Neurosci, 35, 76; O'Donovan et al., Trends Neursoci., 22, 167). In this role, you will study the role of microglial function in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease and brain B-amyloid proteostasis.
Essential job duties and responsibilities:
Working independently on research projects under the supervision of the principal investigator (mentor).
Design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, troubleshoot experiments, analyze data for publication and grant applications.
Present research at national and international meetings, and prepare manuscripts for publication.
Teaching other research staff, students, and residents may be required.
