Job Description Summary
The Research Specialist B will split their time and responsibility equally between acting as a research coordinator for ongoing human studies research being conducted by the Functional and Metabolic Imaging Group within the Department of Radiology and assisting graduate students and postdocs with animal studies/care. Coordinating responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruiting, screening and consenting subjects, scheduling research subjectsâ™ visits, monitoring patients throughout their time on the study, ensuring both their own and othersâ™ adherence to protocol requirements, data collection, entry and management, as well as processing data queries. This individual will be responsible for organizing and maintaining regulatory binders associated with each human study, facilitating and participating in monitoring and audit visits, developing and submitting IRB protocols, and serving as the main point of contact with various regulatory bodies throughout the university. For preclinical studies, this individual will assist with animal handling, imaging, data acquisition and analysis, as well as manuscript preparation.
This position is contingent on funding.
The primary functions of this position are split between the development and execution of clinical research protocols related to lung function imaging for the Department of Radiologyâ™s Functional and Metabolic Imaging Group and participation in preclinical research studies. Coordinating responsibilities include, but are not limited to: protocol development and submission, recruiting, screening and consenting subjects, scheduling of MRI and lung function tests, data collection, entry and management, ensuring adherence to study protocol by all involved parties, regulatory preparation and submission to regulatory review committees, as well as organization and maintenance of all relevant study related documents. For preclinical studies, this individual will assist with animal handling, imaging, data acquisition and analysis, as well as manuscript preparation.
Bachelor's Degree and 1 to 3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
