Overview Employment Status: Full time,non-exempt, temporary with the possibility to become permanent
Work Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

CSU San Bernardino seeks a dynamic, energetic and self-motivated individual to provide assistance in instructional design and in building online courses and holistic degree programs to support the University's initiative for online and hybrid programs. The incumbent will report directly to the director of ATI and work with a team of talented instructional designers and technologists. The instructional designer will consult with faculty on instructional design, its processes, methodologies and timelines. The Instructional Designer will also partner with faculty in the development of instructional materials, assessments and multimedia production following industry-standard best practices.
Typical Activities The incumbent will be responsible for the following job duties:
Work with instructors and program managers on course design/re-design to insure timely completion and delivery.
Assist with promoting instructional and pedagogical best practices for creation and delivery of online/hybrid courses.
Assist with providing technical, design and production assistance to faculty in the development of electronic delivery methods.
Assist with designing and developing teaching, learning, and assessment resources in a variety of formats to support curriculum offerings.
Work closely with campus faculty and campus centers on issues of faculty professional development with learning technologies.
Explore and assist with making recommendations for educational software and tools for use by faculty and others.
Monitor technology trends and the latest research on online/hybrid teaching and learning.
Consult with faculty on optimal design of curriculum and instruction and effective uses of multimedia.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
A basic foundation of knowledge and skills in technical information systems and application program packages would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, educational technology, communications, or related fields, or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study
May include working knowledge of common software application packages, equipment platforms, reference database systems and sources, and training methods and a basic understanding of networks, data communication, and multimedia systems.
1-3 years of experience in a combination of instructional and curriculum design, development and implementation of on-line, hybrid or blended courses
Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design or a closely related field from a regionally accredited program
Knowledge of learning models and learning-related research
Previous professional experience working in a higher education environment;
Experience with learning management systems, Blackboard preferred
Online course development and/or online teaching experience
Proven ability to collaborate with faculty on instructional frameworks based on both agreed-upon instructional objectives and best practices for online teaching/delivery;
Demonstrated experience with project management and the ability to meet milestones and deadlines
Demonstrated use proficiency in multimedia tools, social media, and mobile technologies
