The assistant director is needed to support the expansion and reach of the CSJ Institute, the function of which is to sustain and support the CSJ commitment to serve all persons without distinction, to respond to the needs of the times, and to prepare fearless visionaries for a just future.
1. Provides presentations, trainings, and orientations for students, faculty, staff, alumnae, and the greater community on the history, legacy, and charism of CSJ's.
Classroom presentations in variety of academic programs.
New student orientation (reflections, workshops and/or presentations)
Admissions events, including Admitted Students Day and Le Puy Scholars
Department staff and faculty development, as requested
2. Assists with offering formation and training to various groups within the sponsored ministries of the Los Angeles province.
CSJLA High School leadership conference
Faculty retreats and staff development
3. Assists with retreats and pilgrimages.
Days of reflection for Alumnae
Assist in facilitation of pilgrimages for faculty, staff and students to France, Tucson, etc.
4. Provides formation, service and community building experiences in the Catholic and CSJ traditions for MSMU students.
Develop 1650 Society, sharing the heart groups, and other CSJ practices
Promote presence of CSJs on campus, particularly opportunities for relationship and community building
Develop service and justice experiences, such as spring break trips and service opportunities with various CSJ ministries
5. Develops and executes marketing and communication for the Institute, including publicity for events, educational displays and social media.

Ongoing promotion through Instagram and Facebook

6. Liaison with Student Affairs, particularly Campus Ministry, Women's Leadership and Community Engagement to promote outreach
Collaborate in promotion of CSJ ministry sites for community service
Collaborate with alignment of CSJ tradition in leadership opportunities
Collaborate with prayer and liturgical experiences for CSJ related celebrations, such as Founder's Day and St. Joseph's Day
7. Supervises office and communications assistant (student).
8. Assists director with building relationships in the Los Angeles province, including CSJs and sponsored ministries, as well as the broader CSSJ community, including the ACSSJ, high school association, and U.S. Federation.
9. Develops other programs and resources as needed to support the purpose of the Institute and advance its strategic plan.
Promote student research opportunities
Plan and execute student-oriented programs in CSJ Week, Founder's Day, etc.
Deep understanding of the CSJ charism.
Knowledge of formation and retreat process.
Abilities and Skills:
Teaching, facilitation and/or training skills.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and audiences (from students to trustees).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong written and oral communication.
Ability to work without constant supervision.
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred).
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience coordinating volunteers, outreach and programs.
Event planning, workshop and retreat facilitation experience required.
Track record of public speaking, teaching and/or training required.
