Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) is searching for an Accessibility Support Services Coordinator. This position is responsible to provide quality accessibility support services to GCSOM students. These services will be provided in conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Students and Accessibility Committee. The Accessibility Support Services Coordinator will collaborate with leadership and other departments of the School of Medicine to investigate and implement universal design pedagogy and assistive technology services. In addition, the Accessibility Support Services Coordinator will assist the Assistant Dean of Students in coordinating training and programming activity for Title IX compliance standards.
The successful candidate should have the ability to identify problems, investigate the root-cause of these problems, and make recommendations for solutions; use communication skills to transfer information to individuals and large groups; have a high level of decision-making; prepare business documents, client cases notes, technical reports, manuals, articles, and financial reports; have database and contact management software experience; follow established confidentiality policy, safety standards, and/or applicable regulations; have knowledge of customer service best practices; and excellent organizational skills.
A master’s degree in education, social work, or higher education administration in addition to a minimum of two years’ experience working with students or individuals in an educational or social service setting is required. A minimum of two years’ experience providing accessibility support services to college-level students is preferred.
