The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for appointment to a tenure track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with specialization in K-12 public schools.
The Assistant/Associate Professor will provide leadership and support to the online K-12 Master's and Principal Certification programs and the on-campus Ph.D. program in K-16 leadership and policy studies. We seek a colleague with principal-level certification and licensure and experience in campus and/or district leadership. Candidates applying for the associate-level position should have an established record of academic publication to qualify for tenure at UT Arlington, and those applying for the assistant-level position should have publications or evidence of the promise for academic publication commensurate with a Tier 1 research university. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service.
Engage in scholarly activities leading to publication, grants, and presentations
2 courses per semester after first year
Work with K-12 program coordinator on K-12-related processes key to our success, ranging from admissions to field experiences that align with accreditation and Texas Education Agency requirements
Advise and guide doctoral students in the development and completion of their dissertations
Participate in service to the department, college, university, and K-12 community
Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) by August 2020 in education, education leadership, or a related field.
At the associate level, a minimum of five years of full-time teaching and an established record of academic research
K-12 administrative certification, licensure and leadership experience in a K-12 setting
Evidence of research and scholarly engagement in K-12 educational leadership
Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic background of university students
Knowledge of and experience with local, state, and national educational issues and trends
Knowledge of the role of school leaders in data-driven instructional improvement
Experience in the effective use of technology in educational practice
Successful involvement with university-public school partnerships
Pedagogical experience with hybrid, blended or online teaching strategies
