The Chemistry Department at Salve Regina University is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 2020. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus in Biochemistry, or a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and, preferably, will have postdoctoral experience. Applicants from all fields of Biochemistry are welcome, and experience with mass spectrometry and/or computational tools is a plus.
The teaching responsibilities of this position include developing and teaching biochemistry lecture and laboratory courses for the Chemistry and Biochemistry majors. In addition, the faculty member may participate in teaching General Chemistry, as well as teaching advanced courses in the area of expertise, and possibly non-majors courses.
The candidate will also be expected to mentor undergraduate students in independent research projects. Salve Regina University is a member of the NIH-funded Rhode Island IDeA Network for Biomedical Research Excellence (RI-INBRE), which provides research funding, facilities, and collaborative opportunities for participating faculty.
