Ph.D. (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in journalism, mass communication or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, ABDs nearing completion of the Ph.D. will be considered (with initial appointment at the rank of instructor) and professional experience, particularly in lieu of the doctorate, is highly valued. Demonstrated college- or university-level teaching experience is required.
