Columbia University Irving Medical Center Human Resources is looking for a Talent Sourcing Specialist to support the recruitment and sourcing function at the medical center. The Talent Sourcing Specialist will be a resource for school/departmental HR staff throughout CUIMC to:
Identify and implement best practices in the areas of recruitment and sourcing.
Provide a pipeline of qualified candidates for hard to fill roles.
Initiate a campus wide employer branding initiative.
Support diversity recruitment initiatives.
Working with school/department CUIMC HR team members, assist in execution of the talent sourcing strategy for CUIMC and evolving our employment brand.
Partner with Departmental HR representatives and HR Client Managers to forecast, develop and execute plans for key staffing initiatives.
Collaborate with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.
Research and recommend sources for active and passive candidate recruitment utilizing traditional sourcing methods in conjunction with creative strategies including job boards, internet, social media, employee referrals, placement firms and temporary agencies to attract applicants to the University.
Serve as a resource to departmental human resources managers and hiring managers regarding best practices, legal requirements, compensation, and policies and procedures regarding candidate evaluation and selection, including affirmative action and non-discrimination during the selection process. Analyze, and resolve recruitment-related issues and routine to intermediate inquiries; coordinating with respective departments and referring complex situations to appropriate HR Client Manager.
Ensure the collection and analysis of recruiting metrics to measure the effectiveness of recruiting practices. Determine hard-to-fill positions and provide targeted sourcing solutions.
Provide coaching to departments and hiring managers regarding search/interview preparation and participate in trainings regarding the recruitment and sourcing function at the medical center.
In conjunction with Departments, create a framework to host targeted recruitment open houses e.g. (research staff, administrative staff etc.).
Participate in cross-functional HR initiatives and projects as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Management or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related sourcing/recruiting and interviewing experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of recruiting and sourcing strategies.
Strong oral and written communication skills; accuracy and attention to detail; strong customer service skills; a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality; the ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team; and a strong commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity. The ability to develop positive relationships with peers, hiring managers, and prospective applicants is essential.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Applicant Tracking Systems. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and PageUp preferred.
Consultative skills with the ability to understand the needs and urgency of assigned clients.
Organized, adaptable, agile, and has strong follow up
Experience with email marketing, LinkedIn Recruiter, Glassdoor or other similar resume databases.
Professional HR certification highly preferred (HRCI, SHRM).
