The Breault Laboratory at Boston Children's Hospital is focused on identifying mechanisms underlying tissue and stem cell homeostasis in self-renewing tissues, such as intestine, adrenal gland, and bone using mouse, human and cell culture models. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced full-time Research Associate position in the Gastrointestinal Organoid Derivation and Culture Core Facility of the Harvard Digestive Disease Center at Boston Children's Hospital. Past research assistants in the lab have gone on to prestigious graduate and medical schools as well as positions within the biomedical/pharma industry. Boston Children's Hospital cannot offer visa sponsorship for this opportunity.
This Research Assistant II will be responsible for:
Establishing and culturing of human/mouse intestinal organoids.
Conditioned media preparation.
Documenting, compiling and analyzing experimental data with meticulous record keeping.
Training others in organoid culture techniques and collaborating with outside laboratories.
In order to qualify, you must have:
BS/BA and at least 1 year of related laboratory experience.
Prior cell culture experience is essential and experience in isolating primary cells and/or organoid culture is desirable.
Willingness to commit to at least 2 years to this position.
In addition, competence in the following techniques is highly preferred: immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, animal dissection, CRISPR/Cas9, and use of viral vectors in cell culture.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to troubleshoot, self-motivate, strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to accept challenges are highly desirable.
