Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Admissions and/or the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director for Admissions plays an important role within the Admissions and Student Financial Services Office. This position will recruit and counsel prospective students, review and make recommendations on applicant materials, plan events, and distribute communications. The candidate should be detail-oriented and possess the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. The position requires skills in speaking and writing, the ability to manage complicated projects, an exemplary work ethic, a strong sense of initiative, discretion, sensitivity, and excellent judgment. The position will work collaboratively with the team, other Law School shareholders, and colleagues throughout the Irvine campus or at other UC Law Schools. Aside from possessing the minimum qualifications and some of the preferred qualifications, the candidate should demonstrate a keen interest in the identification and recruitment of a diverse and talented student body. A successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a commitment to the Law School's mission of inclusive excellence. This position involves considerable travel during the Law School recruiting season, and is also the primary event coordinator for prospective student events. A successful candidate must demonstrate willingness to travel and occasionally work evenings and weekends.
