The primary objective * of the University Physician position is to oversee health care to the students, faculty, and staff within the University community, to manage the function of the clinic, and to provide supervision to the Nurse Practitioners in accordance with their licensure requirements. This includes diagnosis and treatment of a broad scope of medical illnesses; recognition and referral of psychological concerns and participation in health promotion and disease prevention education. - This job is intended to provide considerable personal flexibility, allowing the employee to adjust work hours in order to accommodate the needs of a family. Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
This position functions as a University Physician for Student Health Services. The University physician provides primary health care to enrolled students. Position requires active participation in QI meetings, staff meetings, quality review meetings and other operational committees. This is a full time 12-month position.

The University Physician must be licensed or license eligible in the State of North Carolina and have a current DEA license and NPI number.
Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or urgent care medicine is required.
The University Physician should have no unresolved medical malpractice claims, patients' complaints with state medical boards or other negative citations as documented by the National Practitioners Data Bank.
Board Certification and significant experience in college health and experience in working with a diverse student body and faculty and staff is preferred.
