The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in computer science, beginning August 2020. A PhD in computer science or a closely related field in computing is required, and teaching experience in computer science is strongly desired. ABDs within one year of degree completion will be considered.
We are especially interested in applicants with background in software engineering, human computer interaction or theoretical computing. We will consider candidates in all research areas except the systems area. In addition to their area of specialization, primary teaching responsibilities will center on core computer science and/or computer engineering courses. Candidates should have demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, and must be committed to ongoing scholarship while actively engaging undergraduates. The department strongly believes in work-life balance and a non-competitive, collaborative work environment.
