The Financial Analyst will provide direct financial analysis and data validation management to the Office of Executive Education. The responsibilities will include a variety of activities specific to finance and accounting, budgeting and planning, technical support for associated reporting tools and resources, as well as work with a variety of applications to produce reliable, accurate, and dependable information. All functions require proficiency with the University's financial accounting systems, policies, procedures and resources. The financial analyst will provide exceptional and timely customer service and support to faculty, staff, participants, and clients.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Financial oversight (55%)
Extract financial data from various accounting and information systems to perform complex statistical, cost and financial analysis of financial reports and data, and prepares reports for management
Interpret data to evaluate and determine past financial performance and/or making financial projections for management who must make overall business decisions
Provide interpretation of accounts, methods and records for management
Conduct studies of cost and financial results of business activities; recommend adjustments and other cost improvement measures
Produce financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis
Review costs and perform cost benefit analysis for projects and/or programs
Manage financial data to facilitate decision making for the Office of Executive Education budgets, expenditures and revenue
Serve as liaison to partners at division and university level to develop and provide effective financial operations procedures
Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures related to fiscal and operational budget operations
Document current business processes and financial models and assist in business redesign and documentation as needed
Use time-management techniques daily to triage and monitor email(s) and workflow systems to process documents and requests in a timely manner
Communicate with appropriate internal and external administrative offices to ensure that established policies and procedures are followed. JHU partners include Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, Accounts Receivable, Sponsored Projects, Internal Audits, Johns Hopkins University Research Administration, and other JHU departments and service centers
Systems Management & Data Validation (30%)
Serve as liaison with divisional Finance Office and OSRS to ensure validation of financial data
Research and recommend Salesforce, Linvio et al. applications to streamline, secure and/or validate financial data processing
Write or modify Salesforce reports and dashboards in response to data requests
Work in collaboration with a software engineer to ensure the integrity of data throughout multiple information systems
Reconcile revenue and expenses in Salesforce against SAP 3-4 times a month
Manage and reconcile the Office of Executive Education purchasing card process
Execute budget transfers as needed and ensure correct expenses are charged to the appropriate accounts
General operations (15%)
Prepare and process deposit transmittals for payments received; confirm appearance in SAP
Receive, process, and reconcile participant payment types, which included JHU tuition remission, credit cards payments and invoices
Provide support for other departmental needs including event planning, reservations and preparation of materials
Minimum Qualifications (mandatory):
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field required
Three years progressively responsible related financial/accounting experience
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

To be able to set and manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to changing needs and goals
