Reporting to the Chief Clinic Operations Officer, the Module Assistant will rotate through clinics duties as needed to provide clinic staffing resources to under resourced areas. The Module Assistant is a dynamic position that has high visibility within the various clinics.
Assisting at chair side as required and aiding in preparation and maintenance of materials, instruments and equipment
The incumbent will maintain student and patient records
Order and dispense supplies and instruments
Make and confirm appointments
Provide cross coverage for Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant module areas and radiology
The Module Assistant is responsible for greeting and registering patients, scheduling appointments and processing payment for clinical services
Responsible for billing and collection activities, issuing receipts, responding to patient inquiries, posting payments and reconciling financial data on the computer
Perform other clerical duties:photocopy and fax materials, and answer phones
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
Performs other related duties as assigned
High School graduate or equivalency certificate plus a minimum of one year related experience
Two years of college or a completed A.A. program plus formal training in four-handed, sit-down dental assisting and six months of front/back of house experience in a dental setting
Graduation from a NY State DOE approved dental assistant program
Certification as a Registered Central Supply Technician (CRSCT)
Bi-lingual(Spanish/English), including translation
Knowledge of clinic computerized scheduling/chart/billing system
Must be extremely personable and possess excellent communication skills
Must exhibit strong follow through, establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and students, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
