Manages the day-to-day operations of a retail store. Has the responsibility of staffing, store compliance, inventory management, and promotion including responsibility for customer service and assisting with the management and oversight of all locations of the Miami University Retail Stores, including the Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown stores, the skate/pro shop operations at the Goggin Ice Center, the Recreational Sports Center , the Stadium Shop. Additionally, manages all over-the-counter customer service, inventory control, purchasing of merchandise mix and equipment.
Manages the day-to-day operations of Miami’s retail stores including the Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown stores, the skate/pro shop operations at the Goggin Ice Center, the Recreational Sports Center, and the Stadium Shop.
Manage store staff, including scheduling, performance management(coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees if necessary) and staffing the stores (recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees).
Manages merchandising activities of the stores, ensuring availability of merchandise and services.
Develops marketing plans and pricing levels (authorizing markdowns, implementing sales,etc.) and policies by reviewing merchandise activities,studying trends and understanding customer requirements, needs and desires and by analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability.
Verifies and reports yearly physical inventory results to the University’s General Accounting department.
Achieve financial objectives by assisting with annual budget development; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions as needed.
Contributes to, and assists with, the setting of goals, objectives and standards for the Campus Services department.
Maintains a safe and secure store ensuring the protection of customers, employees and merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
