Senior Compliance Analyst, Sponsored Projects - Georgetown University Medical Center
TheSenior Compliance Analyst is responsible for the coordination of all external and internal audits involving sponsored projects, preparation and delivery of training for staff and the research community, policy and procedure development, maintenance, and review, oversight of customer support system, and oversight of compliance testing. The Senior Compliance Analyst also serves as a resource to the SAO analysts, faculty, principal investigators, administrators, Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Sponsored Research, and finance staff in the administration of sponsored agreements and to ensure that operational responsibilities are fulfilled, policies are enforced and customer service goals are reached. The Senior Analyst also works on special projects, as assigned.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Sponsored Projects and Compliance, the Senior Compliance Analyst has additional responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Ensure that compliance in high risk areas is performed by monitoring sub-recipient activity, performing risk assessments on subrecipients, testing effort certification process and monitoring cost transfer activity
Compliance Testing Task
Support the Associate Director in ensuring the effectiveness of compliance environment regarding sponsored
Assist the Associate Director with the coordination of the University response to internal and external audits. Support gathering and preparation of documentation for audits. Provide support to university personnel under audi
Customer Service & Training & Other Administrative Duties
Serve as a resource to faculty, principal investigators, administrators, and finance staff in the administration of sponsored agreements.
Use customer service system to respond to compliance questions from research community.
Provide timely, accurate and useful responses to inquiries.
Follow up on all communications forwarded to departments, principal investigators, and sponsors.
Ensure quality control issues are identified and submit quality control issues recommendation to supervisor.
Assist in preparing training materials and participate in campus education sessions provided by SPFO.
Maintain content for Sponsored Accounting website.
The incumbent is expected to maintain knowledge on all job relevant practices, polices and standards.
Demonstrated understanding of research administration processes
Uniform Guidance audit ( A-133 audit) and compliance experience
3 to 5 years working directly with grants and contracts.
Previous work in university or hospital setting with a medical research facility is a plus
Competency with financial systems: Word, Excel, other MS Office application
Strong accounting skills
Ability to prepare training documents and assist with training program presentations.
Strong oral and written communication skills
