University of South Carolina Upstate Assistant Professor of Exercise Science Spartanburg, SC
Faculty position to teach on the Spartanburg and/or Greenville campus. The School of Education, Human Performance, and Health seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant level for the Exercise and Sport Science program. The successful candidate for this position will have the ability to teach courses focused on kinesiology, including biomechanics, motor learning, and strength and conditioning in a collegial and cooperative environment. Experience teaching diverse populations of students at the college/university level required, as well as an active research agenda in exercise science or related areas.

USC Upstate is seeking teacher-scholars who (i) have a commitment to excellence in teaching and working with a diverse student population and (ii) show clear potential for scholarly research and publication. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in student and civic engagement and active learning pedagogies, (e.g. service-learning, mentoring undergraduate research, and the scholarship of teaching, learning and application). Experience with teaching online or hybrid courses is a plus. Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Candidates should have a doctoral degree in Exercise Science (or closely related field); ABD candidates with planned completion dates by August 15, 2020 will be considered. A demonstrated interest in teaching exercise science courses and an emerging research agenda, with presentations and/or publications in exercise and sport science or related fields are also required. A successful background check is required.
