The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Part Time Technician A. Columbia University Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We offer care for our patients in over 25 specialty areas as well as individualized care for complex cases. Our Residency, Fellowship and Graduate programs are among the best in the Nation. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. The job requires to perform specific duties to include obtaining informed consent from the children and their parents identified to enroll in the research study, data entry into the research database , handle patient samples, attend team meetings and maintain study administrative work. Opportunities to have independent projects and/or publications are possible based on interest.

Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program.
One year of related experience, or the equivalent in education , training and experience.
Must be fluent in Spanish.
Requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with basic computer skills.
Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
May include some bench work , like DNA extraction, sample handling etc.
