Arts and Science is seeking a dynamic Instrumentation Specialist to join the Department of Chemistry. This individual is responsible for managing research and teaching instrumentation in the Department of Chemistry (including undergraduate teaching labs, research labs, and shared instrumentation facility). Responsible for trouble shooting and maintenance of the chemistry department instruments, including installation and setup of new instruments.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree or higher in a Chemistry.
Required Experience: 3+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
Preferred Experience: 3+ years experience working in an academic environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with a wide range of chemistry equipment (e.g. NMR, GC-MS, HPLC-MS, ICP-MS, AA, FTIR, UV-vis).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple demands. Ability to be proactive and familiarize with new instruments quickly. Comfortable working with older equipment and related software.
