Responsible for electronic media to maintain and provide ongoing updates and design of several websites. Assist in planning and production of video projects including storyboarding, script writing, lighting, videography, and post production, and serve as back up production artist for the graphic designer for printed publications.
3-5 years' experience in web-based graphic design and/or web site maintenance.
Knowledge of and proficiency in using HTML, CSS and web design software
Extensive experience in all aspects of creating professional quality video: developing production concepts, working with clients to refine ideas and executing production
Extensive skill in Adobe Creative Suite 6 or above, especially PhotoShop, Dreamweaver and InDesign
Proficiency with Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premier video editing software
Experienced shooting and editing high definition video and optimizing media for various formats including streaming
Knowledge and understanding of marketing principles and online communications
Excellent grasp of business English
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in graphic design, art, or related field or a Technical Degree in a related field
Experience using a Nikon DSLR camera and JVC 4K camcorder
Skilled in storytelling and interviewing for video productions
Ability to utilize social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, and YouTube
Ability to write and edit marketing copy for the web preferred
Experience using Word Press and/or other blogging platforms preferred
Ability to work some evening and weekends
Essential Functions and percent of time::
Web Designer duties 35%: 1.Assist in designing overall customer experience for our websites. This includes overall navigation flow, layout of specific pages, photo selection and editing, and creation of individual graphic elements. 2.Update content and photography on the Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM) website using Drupal 7 and PhotoShop, monitor and maintain links. 3.Under direction, develop and implement content and display standards, maintain several smaller static websites using Dreamweaver, including the Wright State Physicians website. 4.Develop and update wordpress sites for Wright State Physicians (WSP) and others. 5.Work with marketing and development staff on style and approach for all projects. 6.Provide design elements, comps, templates, and finished solutions. 7.Participate in efforts to improve quality of websites and other electronic publications as required. 8.Prepare electronic newsletters and communications with medical school constituencies, including incoming students, faculty & staff, WSP employees, alumni online marketing and donors, using Constant Contact or similar online marketing programs. 9.Evaluate, select, acquire, and prepare photography for the web. 10.Maintain a photo library in conjunction with university photographers and department graphic designer.
Videographer duties 35%: 1.Planning, project management, collaborating with marketing and communications staff, including student interns and other campus personnel, for the production, post production, and delivery of video content. Productions are expected to have strong emotional appeal and genuinely reflect the pulse of the medical school while closely adhering to the BSOM and WSP identity standards. 2.Assist in planning and production of audio/video projects, including storyboarding, scriptwriting, lighting, and camera operation. 3.Conduct post production of video projects including digital video editing, rough cuts, composing, sound finishing and color correction, and compressing video projects for output. 4.Capture recorded video using software and encode media as appropriate; make video products available in a variety of formats, including YouTube uploads, DVDs and streaming media files. 5.Videotaping, editing, sound mixing, graphic design, and compression output of a wide range of video projects.
Production artist duties 25%: 1.Serve as back-up for graphic designer for print projects using Adobe Creative Cloud.
