Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Job Duties/Responsibilities: Research work in molecular and cellular neuroscience/stem cell lab for disease modeling using patient derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). The research goals are to further our understanding of the pathophysio9logy of neurodegenerative diseases and to identify novel pathways and targets for the development of therapy. In particular, we are interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying protein misfolding, extracellular vesicles and propagation of disease in neurodegeneration. We use iPSC from patients with Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of neurodegenerative diseases as our model system. The Post Doctoral Associate will use multi-pronged approach including biochemistry, CRISPR genetic editing, gene expression analysis, proteomics and imaging.
Required Qualifications: -PhD or MD -Experience in cell culture, rodents, biochemical molecular and cellular biological techniques in neuroscience or stem cell biology
