Schedule: 3 week days and every other weekend, 12:00pm-10:30pm (8 days/80 hours every pay period) - week days are variable
Job Duties The University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center is looking for a certified Vet Tech to work in Emergency and Critical Care. Emergency and Critical Care technician’s work in both the ER and ICU. The positions are face paced and provide opportunities to use technical skills at a high level including IV, multi-lumen and urinary catheter placements, nasal gastric and oxygen tube placement, sample collection, oral and injectable medication administration and multi-focal monitoring. Hourly Salary Range: $15.90 to $27.80 USD/hour
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Minimum/Required Qualifications Graduate of a Veterinary Technician or equivalent program, certified as MVMA/MAVT technician (CVT), and at least one year of experience assisting licensed DVM's with veterinary medicine procedures. Must be certified or certified eligible, which means certified, registered, or licensed in another state and be in good standing in that state. Demonstrated ability to act independently with little or no supervision.
Preferred Qualifications/Selection Criteria Problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of veterinary medicine terminology, knowledge of proper restraint and handling of large and small animals. A willingness to be flexible to meet patient care needs. Two years of veterinary technical experience preferred. Proficiency with PC and software programs
