Sarah Lawrence College is seeking an Assistant/Associate Director of Enrollment - Graduate Admissions. Assistant/Associate Director of Enrollment will be reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, this position will be the primary recruiter for Sarah Lawrence College’s Graduate and Professional degree programs. With nine masters-level degree offerings clustered in three areas (fine arts, health, and early childhood education), Sarah Lawrence College graduate degree programs have a long history of innovation in their fields. Home to the country’s first master’s degree in Women’s History, the largest program in genetic counseling, and one of the largest residential writing MFA programs, SLC graduate students and faculty merge intense field-specific study with an emphasis on holistic understanding of that work within society. Each year, SLC enrolls about 300 graduate and professional students on our 44-acre campus.
Serves as the primary high-level recruiter supporting all nine graduate degree programs
Represents Sarah Lawrence College at various recruiting events, including graduate and professional fairs, campus visits, professional conferences, and other events
Manages the email communications to prospective applicants, applicants, and admitted students for graduate degree programs
Assists the enrollment marketing team and the communications office in generating compelling print and electronic outreach, including the graduate admissions web pages
Provides high-level assistance to guide applicants through the application submission process
Acts as a liaison between the Office of Enrollment and the Graduate and Professional Degree Programs, and will cultivate relationships with both the overall academic leadership and the individual program directors
Builds and maintains a visit program for prospective applicants who may visit campus or express an interest in visiting campus
Provides regular application funnel reports to the Vice President for Enrollment and the Dean of Graduate Studies
Stays informed about financial aid policies for graduate students, and partners with the Office of Financial Aid to ensure a streamlined communication process
Other duties as assigned
A bachelor’s degree is required; a masters or advanced degree is strongly preferred
2-3 years of professional experience in either undergraduate or graduate admissions is required; 3-4 years with progressive responsibilities is strongly preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license and a willingness for travel (approximately 10-15% of the calendar year)
Must be a strong writer and editor, and be able to craft compelling accounts of the value of SLC’s graduate degree programs
Must be a compelling speaker about graduate education, both before a large group and with individual consultations
Must be collaborative and able to manage multiple projects across departments
Must have a sense of humor and a willingness to try new and innovative recruiting ideas
