Reporting to and under the general direction of the director of programs and partnerships, the associate director will manage select science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fellowship competitions and develop, implement, and manage experiential civic leadership programs focused on the intersection of STEM and civic practices of service, civic research, advocacy, philanthropy, and/or public policy and governance. This work will be achieved through collaboration with other center for civic leadership (CCL) staff colleagues.
The associate director will teach up to three credits of coursework pertaining to STEM civic engagement. S/he will assist in the cultivation and management of university-community partnerships, faculty partnerships, and alumni networks that enrich civic leadership programs. The associate director may lead special projects or initiatives, develop and lead workshops, and advise graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants. S/he may also have the opportunity to teach additional courses and/or serve as the CCL undergraduate advisor.
