This Assistant Director of Financial Aid position provides critical management of financial aid services to NYU students & colleagues with an emphasis on serving the NYU School of Dentistry. The position provides strong interactive customer service and requires high volume, effective financial aid processing ensuring compliance and efficiency. The Assistant Director collaborates with a larger University team of financial aid and Enrollment Management professionals and provides expertise to ensure University goals and Enrollment Management goals are being met in several categories being particularly committed to student success and institutional positioning. Daily work requires a strong knowledge and dedication to meeting Title IV compliance, creating strategy for effective federal and institutional aid delivery, and a commitment to serving a unique population of Dental students, ranging prospective students to graduates. Additionally the position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a dedication to an outstanding to the student experience while maintaining University goals.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree and
Required Experience: 5+ years relevant professional level experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience with financial aid administration, large-scale data processing operations, and staff supervision.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact with large, diverse staff. Knowledge of need analysis and federal and state financial aid programs. Use of Federal Student Aid (FSA) systems.
