Job Description Summary Please Note: This is 9-month academic year part-time (benefits eligible, 24 hours per week) regularly scheduled position.
The Honors Program Manager will provide support to the Honors Program Director and Associate Director in all aspects of managing the Honors Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of administrative, fiscal, academic, and operational activities for the Honors Program.
Assists the Honors Director and Associate Director in administrative responsibilities
Supervises student workers and the minor budget expenditures of the Honors Student Council.
Monitors retention and tracks student progress including warnings and dismissals notifications each term.
Maintains and updates all communication platform for the program, including emails and social media.
Manages all augmentation paperwork including honors contracts.
Coordinates the general data collection, statistical reporting and demand analysis of enrollment, attrition and graduation rates for Honors students.
Maintains records of students completing requirements for graduation, including, but not limited to, capstone training and service-learning requirements.
Sends out Honors course evaluations at end of every semester, as well as calls for the various Honors Program awards.
Collects and stores student capstone projects. Maintains a working database of student progress throughout the capstone process, including status of capstone proposals.
Coordinates the honors course offerings each semester. This includes tracking historical changes to offerings along with helping departments build honors courses.
Establishes and coordinates activities for current honors students
Coordinates with Student Council to organize Food for Fuel and Pizza with the Director
Works with Valente Center in setting up the annual Research boot camp
Collaborates with the Director and Associate Director in the organization of the annual Research Conference and the Welcome BBQ. Responsible for coordinating all invites and, when needed, booking venues.
Supervises events with the Honors Peer Advising subcommittee
Acts as a liaison with various university constituents
Meets with Undergraduate Admissions and coordinates Open House events
Informs the Registrar of changes and class enrollments.
Meets regularly with Undergraduate Advising team.
Coordinates with First Year Orientation staff.
Communicates with Study Abroad office and Res Life to provide consistent and accurate student services.
Assists in developing and maintaining partnerships throughout the University in order to attain departmental goals and objectives.
Serves in the Honors Faculty Council.
Contributes to scholarly research in field
Reads widely in journals and other literature pertinent to the field
Maintains professional development in fields by attending NCHC and NERHC annual conferences.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in higher education, preferably with supporting in honors program or a university wide student affair program.
Master's Degree preferred and 2 years of experience in higher education, preferably with supporting in honors program or a university wide student affair program.

Communication: This position requires the ability to interpret and disseminate a wide range of information in verbal, printed, and electronic formats to a variety of audiences.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation communication skills.
Experience in fielding inquiries from multiple constituencies (in this position these could include faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external constituencies).
Confident and effective use of asynchronous communication (e-mail and voice messaging).
Ability to organize time and tasks. Positive attitude and pleasant work style.
Familiarity with basic principles of technical communication.
Demonstrated computer skills, including mastery of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and deal with the pressures of looming deadlines.
Demonstrated commitment to learning new tools and finding new approaches to accomplish job tasks effectively.
