HarvardX is looking for a creative and energetic Senior Project Lead to develop educational media and curricular materials for both online and residential education at Harvard. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, an advanced degree in education, instructional technology, or related field or 7 years professional work experience producing interactive, multimedia educational projects
The successful HarvardX Senior Project Lead combines an academic sensibility, an understanding of creative/media approaches to learning, the focus to work effectively within a fast-paced, open office environment, the diplomacy necessary to manage and work within matrixed teams, and rigorous project management. Highly collaborative, the HarvardX Senior Project Lead is able to balance the competing demands inherent in the innovation space while keeping the project team focused on delivering a high-quality learning experience on time and within established and HarvardX practices. The Senior Project Lead is a creative problem solver who prioritizes and frames constructive options and team approaches to resolve conflicts, work within operating constraints, or identify technical solutions.
Works independently and collaboratively to lead the development of high-quality courses / learning experiences in alignment with HarvardX pedagogical, production, technical, research, project management and administrative practices.
Ensures the timely development and implementation of curriculum and project plans, negotiating an appropriate balance among existing practices, available resources and opportunities for innovation.
Communicates regularly and effectively with assigned project faculty, team members, and stakeholders. Works productively with faculty throughout the course development process.
Manages the assigned project team(s) of HarvardX, school, department and contingent personnel who develop and deliver online learning experiences in partnership with and on behalf of HarvardX faculty.
Supervises the contingent staff HarvardX hires for specific assigned projects.
Develops and manages budgets for assigned HarvardX project(s), with established parameters.
Maintains HarvardX project documentation in effective and timely fashion.
Participates in and contributes to HarvardX internal team meetings and projects as well as activities focused on reflective practice, integration of research, and pedagogical innovation.
Represents HarvardX in Harvard and professional communities of practice, as assigned.
Through the Instructional Development leadership group, assists the Director in planning for reflective practice, formative evaluation and professional development activities for team members.
As assigned, leads HarvardX-wide working groups and practice areas, focusing on course development and process improvements
Serves as a mentor to Project Leads I & II on specific tasks
Other duties as assigned.

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
Degree in education, instructional technology or related field
7 years relevant work experience (advanced degree may count towards work experience).
Professional experience and demonstrated ability in our four domains: Project Management, Course Design, LMS Technology and Media Production.
Exceptional project management skills in a deadline-driven environment with competing priorities.
Proven successful work experience in educational media, education publishing, academic technology or teaching and learning support.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years direct teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Minimum of 2 years professional experience managing teams and producing interactive, multimedia educational projects—preferably in higher education
Demonstrated ability to work with and manage team members from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines and levels of expertise.
Demonstrated expertise in multimedia, learning technology tools and project management applications.
Aptitude for learning and applying new technologies quickly and effectively.
Ability to work consistently and constructively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
Highly developed analytic and interpersonal skills with a strong desire to share knowledge with others
Successful track record working in higher education pedagogical contexts, including the development of curricular materials
Prior experience handling confidential matters with appropriate discretion.
Ability to model positive, constructive focus and leadership in a creative, ever-changing environment. Works well ambiguity.
Familiarity with research methodology and assessment approaches in education.
Experience working with copyright and intellectual property issues.
Track record of effective development of course or curricular materials.
