1. Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic planning and cultivating partnerships on campus to identify needs, opportunities, and develop targeted programming. 2. Identify and utilize best practices and resources available beyond Yale. 3. Manage Faculty Teaching Initiatives team members, leveraging individuals' capacities to meet evolving and present faculty needs. 4. Manage teaching grant programs, learning communities, and other cohort-building experiences centered in the CTL. 5. Work in partnership with others at the Poorvu Center through strategy development, in order to identify effective cross-support initiatives. 6. Lead Faculty Teaching Initiatives programming, such as workshops and teaching development courses, and assign programming to FTI team, as individuals' skills and abilities warrant. 7. Create workshops, programs and other events that are themselves models of excellent teaching. 8. Develop and maintain working relationships with faculty and Center staff through the design and implementation of consultations, institutes, workshops, and other programming informed by campus needs and educational research. 9. Develop strategies that lead to initiation and maintenance of specific relationships with departments, schools, and communities across the University. 10. Curate teaching and learning research and resources and customize all learning materials to subject area domains of faculty teaching across divisions and schools campus-wide. 11. Maintain and develop a deep and current understanding of educational research, particularly as it relates to teaching and learning in university classrooms, and as it relates to inclusive excellence and education equity. 12. Work with the Faculty Initiatives Team and other collaborators within and external to the Poorvu Center to address issues of teaching development and program assessment. 13. Represent the Poorvu Center and University events as needed at meetings, campus visits, in relevant national networks and conferences, and other academic venues. 14. Contribute to the field of faculty development through venues such as conference presentations, scholarship of teaching and learning, and other opportunities throughout the discipline of faculty development.
Preferred Education: Tenure track or other full-time university teaching experience. Experience in faculty development at a research institution. Curriculum, program development and/or course design experience; experience with approaches to assessment of student learning outcomes.
