This Research Specialist position will be responsible for maintaining culture, slides, ongoing experiments, and additional responsibilities as directed by PI.
Associated degree or higher in a Biological Science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Understanding of basic laboratory techniques and safety practices. Basic PC/MAC skills and the ability to learn new technology. Ability to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Department Details : The Research Specialist will work at Hillman Cancer Center in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Research will be conducted under the direction of Dr. Adam Soloff (PI), in close association with clinical colleague, Dr. Rajeev Dhupar. Our team's research focuses on the immunology of thoracic malignancies, with an emphasis on translational clinical immunotherapy. The ideal candidate would have an interest in cancer immunology, the tumor microenvironment, and harnessing T cells and innate immune regulation to develop novel immune-based cancer treatments. Work with cell cultures, processing patient samples, flow cytometry, ELISA, RT-PCR, Western blot, and animals is expected. Responsibilities will include performing experiments, data analysis, and contributing to the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
