Job Description Summary
This nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to sick animals in the wards and ICU.
Provide nursing care to critical and non-critical patients
Teach 4th year School of Veterinary Medicine students as well as nursing students
Provide high quality patient care to sick animals.
Work with critical patients, post op patients, intermediate level cases, isolation and infectious disease patients
Must be a Certified Veterinary Technician or board eligible within 3 months of hire
Veterinary Technician B: 1-2 years of experience
Veterinary Technician A: 0-1 year of experience
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Rotating schedule, 40 hours, days, mid-shift, overnights, weekends rotating between ICU and wards.
Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods of time as well as bend, kneel, crouch while working with patients in low cages.
Working environment can be loud at times with barking dogs and equipment alarms.
