The Part Time Program Coordinator is responsible for the set-up, testing, and adjustment of mechanical machinery or equipment, using any combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computer technologies in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) and Physics labs. The Part Time Program Coordinator will participate in the review of programs, courses and lab curricula to ensure their accuracy and currency and coordinate the updates of the program webpages.
OVERALL PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITY
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.
Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation of student outcomes assessment efforts of the faculty in planning, collecting data, and reporting dates as they relate to course outcomes, program outcomes, general education outcomes, and developmental program outcomes. Actively participates in setting annual division goals and objectives, completing OIR reporting forms, collecting data, analyzing data, and preparing a report using guidelines established by OIR.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the maintenance, repair and setup of lab equipment.
Develop and update written procedures for the labs.
Train faculty on the proper and safe machinery operation and setup.
Assist with special technical projects within the facility.
Provide information regarding current lab materials and requirements including syllabi to instructor prior to the beginning of each semester.
Coordinate the development of marketing materials.
Participate in student and faculty outreach and recruitment activities.
Review, communicate and provide feedback for academic issues or concerns pertaining to the laboratories.
Develop and maintain a line of communication with full and part-time faculty, the Chairs and the Division Office.
Other assignments/projects as assigned by the Division Dean.
Ability to work with students in a constructive, courteous manner
Ability to work as part of a team with faculty, lab personnel, and other individuals
Proficient in laboratory practices
Associate degree in Physic, MET or ME
Bachelor degree in any Engineering Technology degree
Engineering Technology lab experience
Two years of professional lab and program management experience related to this position
