Essential Functions: POSITION PURPOSEThe Community Engagement Project Coordinator will support the university's community engagement strategic goals by providing leadership, coordination and implementation strategies. Reports to Associate Vice President and Senior Associate to President.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSOversee and maintain the Engage Wayne State Registry. Analyze Registry data and report on the impact of these activities to members of the campus community, accrediting agencies and stakeholder groups. Coordinate and assess the university's community engagement strategies, initiatives and activities in support of a wide range of projects and initiatives. Develop and implement a triage system to direct and coordinate outreach and engagement requests and inquiries, including volunteer engagement, community partnerships, service learning, and civic engagement. Prioritize engagement events with community organizations based on mission alignment and effectiveness. Collaborate with university divisions, schools and colleges to identify potential community engagement initiatives and programs, track, and promote the visibility of the university's involvement in the revitalization of the City and the region.Work closely with the with the Division of Governmental and Community Affairs, Schools and Colleges, to identify and develop mission-aligned, community-based programs involving students, faculty, staff, and local residents and community organizations dedicated to solving Detroit's and regional most pressing challenges. Develop relationships through targeted outreach and increasing public awareness of the university various programs, services and initiatives.Develop and publish an annual report of the university's community engagement activities. Maintain, plan, and coordinate the university's application for maintaining the designation of the Carnegie Foundation's Classification for Community Engagement.Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor degree in Business Administration/Human Resources, social impact design, development marketing, social work, public policy or related field required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Master's degree preferred in business, public administration, education or related field from an accredited college or university. Experience Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)Experience in volunteer management, social impact design, corporate community relations, project management, community organizing or other related areas. Experience representing the University while working directly with external University stakeholders, regional/local governments, non-governmental organizations, and other community-based partners.Prior Experience with program evaluation planning, implementation, analysis and partnership development.Experience with database management, web-development, and social media highly preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesRequires excellent knowledge, skills and abilities in data analysis and insight generation, translation of complex issues into actionable efforts. Proficiency in developing assessment tools, analyzing and interpreting data. Exceptional presentation, public speaking and verbal communication skills.
