Under the direction of the Director and Manager, support the administrative needs of Payroll Services with the following services and skills.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general administrative support including: answering phones, mail distribution, typing, copying, faxing, coordination of travel arrangements, monitor/order office supplies, and filing.
Maintain calendar and schedule meetings for the Director of Payroll.
Responsible for on-line requisitions, new employee information packets, and system requests.
Verify validity of new employee SSN’s with SSA on-line system.
Distribute mail, reports, and faxes.
Seal, sort, and distribute University paychecks.
Assist Office Assistant with scanning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma.
Three years of secretarial experience.
Prior experience in an HR/Payroll environment.
Prior experience with computerized payroll systems.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Three years of PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to participate as a team member on various types of teams and projects to achieve the goals of Accounting Services.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software applications.
The hiring range for this position is $17.48 - $22.29 per hour.
