Provide administrative and management oversight to the chairperson and faculty of the department involving independent decision making. Responsibility for hiring, supervising, evaluating, and terminating clerical staff. Budgetary supervision and policy development. Implementation of information systems and procedures. Provide leadership both inside and outside of the School of Nursing and participation in the school's strategic planning process and in the accomplishment of the goals of the school.
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet programs, e-mail and electronic calendaring. Knowledge of basic navigation in web/internet based applications. Excellent communication skills with a diverse population. Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff members and the community. Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and is a self-starter. Strong organization, time-management, problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Supervisory experience. Knowledge of University Administrative Systems (time keeping, student information lookups, student information systems, class scheduling, data extraction, online course material sites, report writing, purchasing), and knowledge of university policies and procedures. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
