The primary purpose of this position will be to work on the overnight shift with adult individuals with autism, in a Residential setting. The job involves supervising adults with autism and providing assistance with their personal care and training on residential skills. It also involves documentation and administration of medication to clients. This position also has the responsibilities of household cleaning, doing laundry and cooking for the residents.
Education and Experience:
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
The essential skills needed for this position include the ability to directly supervise adults with autism, the ability to provide assistance to them with all their daily needs including personal care, the ability to provide training in the home, the ability to protect clients' rights, the ability to prevent and respond to problem behaviors, the ability to document clients' activities and behaviors, and the ability to help with upkeep of the house. The selected candidate may be required to undergo fingerprinting and a national background check.
Experience working with individuals with autism and /or developmental disabilities in a residential setting is preferred.
