Directs all day-to-day functions of Housing and Residence Life Business Office and provides oversight of front desk training, development of service standards and overall support Responsible for housing and dining contract development, directs the room selection/assignment experiences for the academic school year, and oversees the audit processes for essential data delivery between Peoplesoft and The Housing Director which has a critical impact on business operations. Collaborates with Athletics, International Student and Faculty Services, Learning Communities, Margaret Boyd Scholars, Student Accessibility Services and other specialized programs for manual assignments as well as communication and oversight of events that support the contract and room selection experiences. Coordinates and facilitates the training and communications for professional staff, assistant resident directors and student service specialists as well as communication with all current and prospective students in relation to business practices and systems that support our business processes.
1.Directs the housing application process, roommate selection, housing assignment/selection experiences and meal plan selection processes for up to 8000 students who reside on campus. Oversees the early arrival process and the spring extension process for students requiring housing pre/post the traditional academic term. Employs critical decision and problem solving skills to promote the best student experience. Recommends occupancy and configuration changes for all 38 residential facilities on the Ohio University Athens campus and manages space throughout the room selection experiences to maximize utilization of residence halls. Provides functional support for the Division of Student Affairs, Department of advances Housing and Residence Life and Ohio University. Works in collaboration with Housing and Residence Life Business team and Orientation to support BSO (Resource Fair).
Manages the contract, access, meal plans, and assignment process for specialized populations (athletics, international students, learning communities, specialized living experiences, ROTC, OHIO Honors, HTC and scholars programming, etc.) as well as managing the early arrival process. Provides support for My College Roomie, Admission Yield Events and Out of State Receptions to advance efforts of student recruitment.
2.Directs essential business functions that have an impact on student accountability and billing. Manages the two year live on requirement. Audits commuter eligibility and declared intent to enroll status and integrations. Audits regional relocates and transfer students for on campus housing requirement. Audits OHIO Guarantee cohort logic and ensures students are locked into appropriate rate tables based on cohort logic rules. Oversees room change process and vacancy reports to ensure that accuracy of student data as a deliverable to Peoplesoft. Audits proration tables and room change processes to ensure that rates accurately represent credits/charges based on specific criteria. Oversees the Exemption/ Termination Process to include Greek Life Exemptions.
3.Provides recruitment, training, development and oversight of the graduate and undergraduate student staff team and supporting professional staff member for the business operations office. Establishes service standards of excellence for inquiries regarding questions related to the contract process, room selection experiences, and meal plans as well as the residential experience. Provides direct supervision and professional development of a full time Administrative Specialist and Graduate Assistant. Creates and executes continuous training and communication of business technology with internal staff on business processes (vacancy reports, withdrawals, and room changes), housing software platforms and the contract/room selection processes and appropriate timelines.
4.Creates and executes continuous training and communication of business technology with prospective/current students including, but not limited to webinars and video tutorials on the room selection process, Housing Self-Service, My College Roomie, medical accommodations, the housing exemption and termination process, room change process, two year live on requirement and billing.
5.Creates housing opportunities for students in support of a divisional priority by embedding equity and social justice into the day-to-day work through the identification and removal of barriers to promote a supportive living experience for all students. Works in collaboration with Student Accessibility Services to promote student access, to remove known barriers and offer reasonable housing accommodations. Collaborates with the LGBTQA Office to expand options for gender inclusive housing to support both programmatic and non-programmatic needs. Collaborates with the Office of International Student and Faculty Services as well as the OMANI embassy to ensure that housing assignments for international students align with the department's vision of cultural immersion as well as supporting cultural needs.
Master’s Degree 3-5 years experience with housing and/or business operations. 3-5 years supervisory experience.
Experience working with databases. Strong customer service skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
