The Academic Assistant for Physician Assistant Studies (PAS) - W/M supports program faculty and Program Director/Dean with preparations for examinations (using Scantron device or electronic examination platform); verifying attendance; archiving exams and assignments; and with preparations for laboratory sessions, practical?s and professional seminars. The Academic Assistant may also provide support to the Program in the planning and execution of Program curriculum activities, Department activities and committee and service-related work.Responsibilities: Provide assistance with examination preparation, including uploading questions and copying exams throughout the semester. Review examination schedules received from course coordinators prior to the first week of a semester; prepare an examination grid and resolve any overlap conflicts. Reserve rooms for examinations. Prepare all rooms for examinations and technology requirements, aiding in the set-up of the room for the examinations, and proctoring examinations and make-up examinations as needed. Grade examinations that utilize Scantron using Parscore if needed. Grade examinations using examdriver. Enter grades for examinations, quizzes and other graded assignments into Blackboard. Enter and manage the blackboard calendar that the start of each semester. Enter and manage course shells, grades, assignments, announcements or materials for course. Print out rubrics for laboratory practicals, mini -OSCEs, and laboratory set-up. Assist with the coordination of the autopsy schedule, contacting the Medical Examiner?s office and contacting the student groups. Assist with the coordination of Professional Seminars, scheduling rooms, appropriate technology requests, reimbursement schedule for guest lectures. Assist with the coordination of awards ceremonies, retreats, IPE activities and community outreach projects. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
