Helps coordinate pre-award Research Administration for the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources in the AgBioResearch Office of Research Support (ABR.ORS). Prepares and reviews domestic and international research grant budgets, proposals and applications for Federal, Industry, State and other grant agencies. Liaison with OSP to make sure policies and procedures are implemented and followed across the college. Coordinates the development and implementation of policies and procedure for ABR.ORS and provides outreach to units to insure the highest level of support to the CANR faculty in developing their grant proposals.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business or related field; experience with and/or knowledge of grant proposal process; three to five years of progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research administration including the area of pre-award processes or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in working with complex proposals for research projects and administering federal and state agency policies and research administration, preferably in an academic environment; three to five years related experience in research administration including pre-award experience; demonstrates strong communication skills to help administer the granting processes while working with a diverse group of individuals on and off campus and multiple granting agencies; ability to work independently, problem solve, detailed oriented and multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment. Background in science a plus. Expansive work experience in accounting, budget preparation, database & spreadsheets.
