Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Department of Psychology is seeking a full-time Research Technologist I. Under the direction of Dr. Amy Arguello, the Research Technologist I will assist with operant behavioral experiments, jugular catheterization and stereotaxic surgeries, immunohistochemistry, western blotting techniques and general rodent care. The Research Technologist I will be responsible for ordering supplies and general lab management. The successful applicant will also assist with compiling data for reports, manuscript preparation, poster and/or abstract preparation as well as informal presentations during lab meetings.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in biology, biochemistry, psychology, neuroscience or other related field; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in basic research techniques in biology, biochemistry, psychology, neuroscience or related field; word processing, spreadsheet; database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The job may require experience working with potentially dangerous research animals.
