Director of On-line and Off-campus Programs - ANRD 12585
The Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Director of On-line and Off-campus Programs (Program Director). Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs / Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources & Design and in collaboration with the Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning / Dean of WVU Online the Director of Online and Off-Campus Programs will serve as the liaison between the Davis College and WVU Online. The Director will develop and implement strategies that position the college for a high-quality, scalable, and financially sustainable online and off-campus portfolio that leverages the unique strengths of Davis College and its faculty.
The Director provides leadership, expertise and creativity to support and inspire faculty in the successful creation and support of distance education in the Davis College. The Director also encourages and fosters a culture of inquiry about student learning in support of various College strategic initiatives
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Provide strategic leadership in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of online and off-campus education programs, courses and services.
Assist in the management of a comprehensive professional development program for faculty to successfully integrate technologies with pedagogies in the online environment.
Act as a liaison with current academic programs, cultivating relationships with academic directors and program leads for ongoing information sharing between the academic unit and WVU Online to ensure mutual awareness of critical issues affecting students, quality of instruction, recruitment and marketing, enrollment services, academic advising, mentoring, curriculum development, staffing, and academic policies.
Coordinate processes related to new and existing academic programs for online and off-campus delivery, and collaborate across stakeholders such as ITS, Libraries, Admissions, etc.
Partner with college-appointed program coordinators to facilitate curriculum mapping and creation of program-level documentation that guides a continuous improvement process.
Monitor entrepreneurial activity to ensure programs are adequately funded.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or accreditation standards for college specific online and off-campus programs.
Coordinate all aspects of online and off-campus programs for a seamless and efficient student experience, working with staff to continuously improve the quality of online and off-campus course design, faculty support, and technology.
Execute initiatives related to building strategic partnerships, identifying and implementing new programs, and managing the budget, recruitment, marketing, and admissions in support of online and off-campus program enrollment goals.
Lead the outreach and recruitment of potential students, orienting and enrollment of students, the process of projecting enrollment demand, scheduling courses to support timely degree progress, as well as, developing advising and mentoring programs, services and processes to support students' on-going academic and career development.
Collaborate with college recruiters and Key Communicator to review, update, and maintain content for all web and non-web based promotional materials. .
Master's degree in Education, Technology, Public Administration, or related field.
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in the following areas is required:
Experience working in higher education, and/or managing academic programs.
Experience in program or project management.
Working with/managing online programming
A combination of relevant education and experience that provides the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may also be considered.
Valid Driver's License to travel for Off-campus programs as needed.
Ability to obtain State PCard within 3 months of hire
