The Department of Emergency Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Study Assistant (RSA) to join the University of Washington's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Team. The RSA will work on a variety of quality improvement and research projects relating to Seattle Medic One and prehospital emergency medicine within King County and Seattle.The Research Study Assistant will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research in EMS. Projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out of hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, sepsis, and opioids. The research assistant will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders within the Seattle Fire Department and University of Washington Paramedic Training.Research ResponsibilitiesAssist with development and maintenance of research databasesComplete data entry and provide summary reports and regular updatesProvide technical assistance to other key stakeholdersAssist with preparation and revision of study materials for the Institutional Review BoardComplete literature reviews relating to ongoing researchPerform related duties as requiredAdministrative ResponsibilitiesSchedule, coordinate, record, and distribute minutes for internal meetings with UW research collaboratorsPrepare materials for meetings and workshopsOversee onboarding of student assistantsFor detailed information on Benefits for this position, click here.REQUIREMENTSTwo years of college-level course work in a relevant academic area AND one year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience.Additional Requirements:Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsWell-honed organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and timelinesAbility to work with colleagues in a way that enhances collaboration and team buildingProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteDESIREDBachelor's degree in a related academic area.Prior EMS experience.Proficiency in statistical analysis software.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Application Process:The application process for UW positions may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
