Curriculum Specialist (Lab and Multi-Media Specialist)

The Curriculum Specialist serves the Office of Medical Education (OMED) in a staff capacity by providing direct service, materials, and resources for the instruction of medical school students.
The incumbent performs the following duties:
Interacts with course directors and contributors to provide instructional support needs for both the Standardized Patient Program (70%) and in the School of Medicine teaching laboratory (20%)
Supports the teaching and evaluation activities of the Standardized Patient Program.
Staffs/manages the Scaife Hall laboratories and storage areas
Procures/maintains laboratory supplies (e.g., consumables and simulation manikins)
Sets-up, operates, and maintains all laboratory equipment (e.g., microscopes, ultrasound machines) and audio-visual equipment (monitors, cameras, computers)
Video editing/media background preferred. Demands of the position necessitate flexibility regarding work hours (e.g. early morning hours or evening hours) and will be dependent on course needs as required. The incumbent is expected to operate collaboratively with other OMED and SP program staff, and with autonomy and discretion within the scope of the position. Also, this position assists in the day-to-day operations of the OMED office. Post-secondary degree (e.g., associate's or bachelor's degree) preferred. Years of experience in a similar field may be substituted for the degree.

Demonstrated experience working with digital media platforms, Adobe Photoshop , Premiere Pro, comfortable on both Mac and PC, Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, respectively ). Must be able to understand and learn new software packages as required to meet the needs of the Office of Medical Education. Must be certified in Laboratory Safety Procedures and Formaldehyde Training (training will be provided).
