The Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position to begin fall semester 2018 (08/27/18). Areas of specialization are open.
Appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (late-August to late-May). Appointment will be at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor, consistent with collegiate and University policy.
Faculty in the Department of Economics in the College of Liberal Arts are expected to undertake and carry-out publishable research in economics, to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in theoretical and/or applied economics and contribute service appropriate to the department, college, University, and profession.
The department's concern is the promise of the individuals to develop an active program of significant research and to become an effective teacher at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate programs, including frontier research at the level appropriate to a leading graduate program.

A Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Economics or related field is required. If the Ph.D. is completed by the start date (August 27, 2018), appointment will be at the rank of assistant professor. ABD status required for this appointment at the rank of tenure-track instructor. Instructor rank anticipates completion of the Ph.D. during the first year of the appointment. Salary is competitive.
Candidates will be evaluated according to a) overall quality of their academic preparation and scholarly work, b) relevance of their scholarly research to the department's academic priorities and fields of inquiry, c) evidence of commitment to teaching and skills as a teacher, and d) strength of recommendations.
