Under the direction of the Executive Director for Residence Education, the Assistant Director for Community Standards will be responsible for the management of student conduct for the Office of Residential Life. The Assistant Director will serve as a formal and informal administrative hearing officer in non-academic conduct cases as well as providing residential hearing board facilitation. The Assistant Director will evaluate, investigate, and adjudicate complaints and allegations of violations of the student conduct code. This position will also provide support, training, educational programs, weekly conduct reports, and assist in tracking the completion of disciplinary sanctions. This position will collaborate with the Associate Director of Residential Life and Complex Directors to assist in case management. The Assistant Director for Community Standards is required to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation with other professional staff of the Office of Residential Life. This is a full time, 12-month position. The Assistant Director of Community Standards would have the ability to have present a high degree of professional and personal integrity, commitment to ethical values, and respect for privacy and confidentially and must be committed to equity and social justice.
Oversees the community standards for Residential Life and collaborates regularly with offices involved with all conduct concerns including Stockton Campus Police, Office of Student Right and Responsibilities, Women’s Gender and Sexuality Center, Stockton Athletics, Student Development, Health Services, and the Counseling Center.
Investigates complaints, maintains confidential records, ensures institutional compliance, and manages reporting related to Clery, and Title IX.
Serves as a liaison to the Office of Residential Life in the coordination and adjudication of alleged violations of the student Code of Conduct that occur in campus housing facilities.
Serves as the complainant for cases referred to the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities for adjudication and provides administrative oversight for Residential Hearing Board cases.
Prepares and administers all online educational modules including, but not limited to Decision Making 101, Blackboard course, 3rd Millennium, Alcoholwise, Under the Influence/Marijuana 101, Consent and Respect, etc. Provides weekly statistical reports for the Executive Director of Residential Life.
Assists in the management of student disciplinary records and files using the Maxient database. Prepares charge letters and hearing outcome letters. Tracks compliance with sanctions and prepares a weekly conduct status report.
Meets with students to support case management efforts. Oversees the roommate mediation and conflict resolution programs.
Participates in programs and services in support of opening and closing activities, orientation, and admissions events for first year, transfer, graduate, and returning students.
Maintains office resources, including the Guide to Residential Life, written materials, forms, information on services, workshops, and other resources as determined appropriate.
Participates in college-wide special events and all-call functions for student affairs staff.
Participates in evening, weekend and holiday on call duty responsibility and serves as a continuous contact for the complex director staff as an on-call manager.
Assists in the development of procedural initiatives concerning student behavior and the disciplinary process.

Master's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field
Experience with personal computers using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student and employee policies and privacy records (Title IX, Clery Act, Campus Save Act, and FERPA).
One year of experience in student conduct or student affairs, working with conduct boards or related work experience.
Two years of experience in Housing or Residential Life
Experience with Maxient or other student conduct software
