This is a full-time cook position which involves preparing meals, table serving, general cleaning and stocking. This position requires extensive contact with Holy Spirit Fathers, other clergy members, university staff and visiting guests. Candidates must be willing to work all shift times including weekends. The typical work hours and shifts will vary depending on kitchen needs.
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Prepares meals including: appetizers, salads, entrees, sides and desserts.
Serves meals to members of the Holy Spirit Congregation and guests.
Cleans up serving area/dining room after meals.
Maintains a clean kitchen by washing and drying dishes, putting food away, and emptying trash.
Accepts grocery deliveries and stocks groceries.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work requires a minimum of a high school diploma a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 – 3 years of culinary experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time;
Ability to lift and move objects as needed;
Knowledge of food preparation and storage techniques;
Ability to use a variety of kitchen tools and appliances;
Ability to follow instructions and plans;
Strong customer service orientation;
Willingness to work variable shifts;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
