Job Summary: Under the direction of the Leadership in Engineering Advancement, Diversity and Retention (LEADR) Program Director, provide advising support and individualized services to, primarily, upper-division engineering undergraduate students from first-generation, underrepresented, and low-income backgrounds. Services include, but are not limited to, working closely with campus resources to identify career and research opportunities for students; providing personal and group advising on academics and life goals; identifying and addressing barriers to graduation for this population.
Physical Demands: -Work for extended periods of time at a desk/computer. -Position requires work in an area with constant foot traffic. -May lift up to 25 lbs. of office supplies.
Work Environment: May require occasional overtime during peak periods and commencement.

Preferred Qualifications: -Bachelor's, or higher, degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. -Experience working with Macintosh computers. -Experience working with Excel, Microsoft Office. -Experience using UC Davis systems (Banner, Assist, College Source Online, and Degree Navigator). -Knowledge of State and Federal Laws governing confidentiality of student records. -Knowledge of UC policies regarding privacy of information. -Ability to work effectively with a socially, ethnic and culturally diverse student population. -Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written, skills to communicate professionally and effectively with students, staff, and faculty -Knowledge of first-generation and underrepresented college student experience.
