Essential Functions: The Wayne State University Graduate School is pleased to announce the availability of a 12-month Graduate Student Assistantship (GSA) beginning Fall, 2019.The GSA is designed to provide hands on learning experience for graduate students interested in higher education/educational outcomes and data management.Compensation $23,960 annually for the period August 19, 2019 through August 17, 2020Tuition Scholarship Ten (10) completed graduate credits per semester for Fall/Winter Semester;Two (2) completed graduate credits for Spring/Summer SemesterHealth Benefits Choice of six medical insurance carriers, Delta Preferred Dental Insurance, Vision Care InsuranceHours 20 hours per week (flexible schedule needed)While working hours are scheduled around class meeting times, scheduling will include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled full time graduate at WSU, with strong organizational skills and a desire to understand higher education policies, educational outcomes, awards and events supporting graduate education
Ability to understand and appropriately use data to create compelling and accurate tables and charts using Excel or other spreadsheet software for use in manuscripts, PowerPoint presentations and other documents
Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, work under pressure to meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and follow through on time-sensitive tasks
Work collaboratively with Graduate School staff on graduate education enhancement initiatives and projects as assigned
Maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be in good academic standing
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Dependability and punctuality, with good organizational, writing, and analytical skills
Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently
Demonstrated computer skills.
