The Center for Innovation and Scholarship in Teaching and Learning (CISTL) guides and supports faculty as they create effective pedagogical practices, supportive environments for teaching and learning, and technology-enhanced instruction.
The Instructional Consultant is responsible for assisting faculty with instructional design, teaching best practices for all modalities of instruction, especially online, and helping to raise the standard of pedagogical practices on campus through professional development opportunities offered by the Center. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
Consult with faculty and staff concerning needs assessments, instructional development, evaluation of teaching innovations, and instructional technology.
Instruct faculty in the use and production of instructional technology/online learning.
Develop and maintain faculty development programs specifically aimed at increasing faculty use of advanced/active learning/engaging pedagogical practices.
Plan and assist in the delivery of orientations, workshops, and presentations to faculty.
Develop web/print materials on teaching for internal and external distribution. Contribute to program planning and other maintenance needs of the unit.
Stay abreast of changes In the Learning Management System and remain current with the literature on teaching, learning, and faculty development.
Master's degree or the combination of education and related experience.
Demonstrated experience in Macintosh and PC platforms as well as Learning Management Systems.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Customer service orientated.
