Engages and consults with students and student organizations to increase their awareness, understanding and application of existing and emerging learning technologies and learning spaces, thereby empowering them apply/otherwise translate that deeper understanding of technology – both as a student and lifelong learner –in ways that are academically effective as well as legally and socially responsible. Collaborates across Learning Technologies, UITS, the campus teaching centers, IT Pros, and other school and departmental groups to raise awareness and use of both existing and emerging technologies available to students (3D printing, virtual reality, maker spaces, etc.). Responsible for hiring and overall supervision of student hourly employees to assist in student-focused workshops, demonstrations and presentations on existing and emerging learning technologies. Ensures compliance with all relevant IT standards and policies. Stays informed of and engaged with a wide-range of technologies, as to model best practices to student employees and other staff and faculty. Attends relevant national and international conferences regarding the development and application of emerging technologies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in higher education that includes experience with multimedia-related technologies, AR/VR, or 3D printing.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Experience with Mac and PC operating systems. Enderstanding and applied use of a broad range of existing and emerging learning technologies. Strong service orientation and interpersonal and communication skills, team skills, and organizational skills. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with heads of academic departments; university administrators; and representatives of other campuses, universities, and national organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in computing or any technology-related field. Prior consulting and prior supervisory experience.
